Arthur Becker-Weidman, PhD

Dr. Becker-Weidman received his doctorate in Human Development from the University of Maryland, Institute for Child Study. He achieved Diplomate status from the American Board of Psychological Specialties in Child Psychology and Forensic Psychology. He is Director of the Attachment-Focused Treatment Institute. Dr. Becker-Weidman is an internationally acclaimed speaker and workshop leader. He consults with therapists, governments, and organizations throughout the US and internationally. He was a Vice-President of the Association for the Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children. He is a founding member and First President of the Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Institute. Art is an adjunct Clinical Professor at SUNY at Buffalo, The Academy for Human Development in Singapore, and Medaille College, PsyD program. He has published five books, including Attachment Parenting: Developing Connections and Healing Children, several popular DVDs, and many scholarly papers in professional journals. He regularly presents at international and national conferences.
Art specializes in the evaluation and treatment of families with adoption related issues, Complex Trauma, Developmental Trauma Disorder, and attachment difficulties.
